Rod Chaplin comes from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. He fell in love with reggae music aged 15 when he first set ears upon the huge Conroy Smith hit 'Dangerous'.
Better known as Apocalypse Dub Faction, he began composing dub music back in 1991, working with long-time friends Richard Hamberger (Mystical Warrior) and Andrew Hobbs (Errol De General). He has been collaborating with many artists since then, including Prince Allah, Kenny Knots,
Sandeeno, Zebby Blax and
Errol Bellot.
Most of his productions have appeared on two labels: Ministry Of Dub and his own MessenJah Music. The latter is also the name of his roots sound system. The 'Jah Never Fail I' retrospective compilation was released by Dubkey in April 2014.
